Giancarlo De Carlo centenary committee logo

2019 marks the 100th anniversary of Giancarlo De Carlo’s birth. A group of influential architects and academics teamed up to celebrate the centenary of one of Italy’s most renowned architects and urbanists, by organizing a series of events and exhibits. 

We were asked to design a logo for the committee they formed. Instead of limiting ourselves to pick a typeface, we decided to reproduce De Carlo’s initials through curve shapes that are inspired by one of his iconic floorplan designs for the famed Urbino University campus.
